One of my favourite authors, Cormac McCarthy (THE ROAD, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN), has sold his first spec script titled THE COUNSELOR.
The story revolves around a lawyer who believes he can start dealing drugs without getting sucked into the dirty underworld that surrounds the trade. Unfortunately, he is incorrect and must battle to survive his situation.
It sounds to me like it’s taking a page from BREAKING BAD (watch it if you haven’t seen it!)
McCarthy is represented by Binky Urban and Ron Bernstein at ICM.
